1. Introduction
Kentrove is a product of Glancein Enterprises Private Limited ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
Kentrove is a local-first expense tracker. Your financial data — transactions, accounts, budgets, and attachments — is stored on your device. We do not run a server-side database of your personal financial records.
This Privacy Policy explains the limited information that is processed when you use Kentrove through our website and mobile applications (distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store).
2. Information We Collect
Kentrove does not require an account. There is no in-app sign-in or password for the app itself. The information processed when you use the app is limited to the following:
- Financial Data (stored on your device): Transactions, accounts, budgets, categories, EMIs, goals, and attachments/receipt images you choose to add. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Optional Diagnostics and Analytics: In upcoming app updates, optional diagnostics are enabled by default for users who have not previously chosen a preference; existing opt-outs are preserved. You can review or disable this choice during onboarding or in Settings → Data & Privacy → Share diagnostics & analytics. When enabled, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics receive usage events, app/device information, installation identifiers, performance information and crash reports. SDK identifiers may link these records to an installation or device, even without an app account. We do not send financial entries, amounts, notes, raw audio or transcripts to these services. Withdraw optional sharing in Settings → Share diagnostics & analytics.
- Optional Meta Ad Measurement (upcoming app updates): This separate setting is off by default. If you enable Share Meta ad measurement in Settings → Data & Privacy, Meta receives app activation events, app/device information, network information including your IP address, and an app-instance identifier to measure Kentrove Facebook and Instagram advertising. These records are not anonymous. We disable automatic event logging and advertising-ID collection; Kentrove does not read IDFA or Android advertising IDs for this measurement. Financial entries, account names, balances, notes, audio and transcripts are not sent to Meta. Disabling this setting stops future activation reporting; requests already sent cannot be recalled.
- Advertising Data (Free Version): The free version requests non-personalized ads through Google AdMob after applicable consent checks. Google may receive your IP address (used to estimate general location), app- or device-related identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic/performance information. Kentrove does not request iOS tracking permission or use IDFA. Non-personalized ads still involve data processing. Advertising privacy options are separate from optional diagnostics sharing and are available in the app when required.
- Google Drive Authorisation (Android only, optional): If you enable Google Drive backup, you grant the app a one-time consent to access an app-private folder in your Google Drive (the
drive.appdatascope). We obtain a short-lived access token from Google so the app on your device can write backups directly to your Drive. The token is held on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. - Voice Assistance (optional): In-app voice commands request microphone and speech-recognition access when you start listening. iOS processes speech on-device when supported; otherwise Apple may process the audio. Siri and Android system assistants process commands under their own privacy settings. Kentrove does not independently upload audio or transcripts to our servers or analytics. Voice entries and the Siri journal are stored locally and encrypted. If you explicitly enable recording while locked, a minimal catalog of category and account names remains available for recording new entries; balances, spending and history are excluded. Queued entries are applied after unlocking and opening the app. Disable recording while locked and Siri answers separately in Voice Assistant settings.
- Support Communications: Details you choose to send when contacting support (e.g., email content and any screenshots you attach).
3. How Your Data Is Stored
Kentrove uses a local-first storage model. Your financial data is written to an encrypted local database on your device. Optional cloud backup, when enabled, stores a copy of that data in your own cloud account:
- iOS — Apple iCloud: Backups are stored in an app-specific container in your iCloud account using Apple's CloudDocuments service. The backup files are encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Glancein Enterprises Private Limited does not have access to your iCloud account or its contents.
- Android — Google Drive: Backups are stored in a hidden, app-private folder in your Google Drive (
appDataFolderscope). This folder is invisible to you in the Drive web UI and inaccessible to other apps. Glancein Enterprises Private Limited does not have access to your Drive account or its contents.
Cloud backup is optional and controlled entirely by you. You can disable it or delete backup files in your iCloud/Drive account at any time.
4. How We Use Information
The limited information processed by the app is used to:
- Provide expense tracking and financial management features on your device
- Back up and restore your data to/from your own iCloud or Google Drive, if you enable it
- Improve app functionality and stability through optional diagnostics and usage analytics
- Display ads in the free version (subject to your device settings)
- Measure Facebook and Instagram app advertising when you separately enable Meta ad measurement
- Provide customer support when you contact us
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Because Kentrove does not collect identifiable financial data on our servers, there is no such data for us to share. The limited information that leaves your device is shared only with the following service providers:
- Google (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics): Receives optional usage events, app/device metadata, installation identifiers and crash reports when diagnostics sharing is enabled. These records are not necessarily anonymous.
- Meta (optional ad measurement): Receives the activation and app/device/network information described above only when you enable the separate Meta setting in supported app versions. Meta processes information under its Privacy Policy. Your Firebase diagnostics choice does not enable Meta measurement.
- Google AdMob (free version): Processes non-personalized ad requests, identifiers, IP addresses, interaction signals and diagnostics as described above and in Google’s SDK disclosures. Non-personalized advertising does not mean no collection or sharing.
- Apple (iCloud) / Google (Drive): If you enable backup, your encrypted backup files are stored in your own iCloud or Drive account, governed by Apple's or Google's respective privacy policies. We do not access this data.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: Process app downloads, updates, and any in-app purchases under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect legal rights.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, with prior notification.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data on your device — your local data is always under your control inside the app
- Delete all local data by uninstalling the app or using the in-app reset options
- Delete cloud backup files from your own iCloud or Google Drive account at any time
- Disable cloud backup at any time from the app's Settings → Cloud Backup screen
- Withdraw optional sharing in Settings → Share diagnostics & analytics. Withdrawal stops future optional collection; it does not automatically erase previously sent SDK data.
- Disable Share Meta ad measurement separately in Settings → Data & Privacy. This stops future activation reporting and does not erase previously sent data.
- Manage applicable advertising consent using the app’s Ad privacy options when required. Kentrove requests non-personalized ads.
- Request deletion of any historical data tied to prior versions of the app at kentrove.com/apps/expense/delete-account
7. Data Retention
Local data on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app. Previously sent analytics and crash data are retained under configured Google/Firebase retention settings. Meta retains previously sent measurement information under its applicable retention policies. Contact us about applicable data requests; disabling either setting alone does not erase historical records. Cloud backup files in your iCloud or Drive account are retained until you delete them; the app keeps a rolling set of the most recent backups and automatically prunes older ones in your cloud account.
8. Security
Local data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. Current backup files are encrypted by Kentrove before upload using a recovery passphrase. Apple iCloud or Google Drive also apply their own transport and storage protections. Keep your recovery passphrase safe; we cannot recover it for you. The Google Drive access token used for backup is held only in secure local storage on your device. We follow industry-standard practices including HTTPS for all server communications and regular code review of security-relevant changes.
9. Children's Privacy
Kentrove is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. International Users
Optional analytics, crash information and advertising data may be processed by Google in countries other than your own. If you enable optional Meta measurement, Meta may also process its measurement information internationally. Apple or Google may process voice commands through their operating-system speech services according to your permissions and settings. Where backup is enabled, your backup files reside in your own iCloud or Drive account, processed by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or to applicable law. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
